Corine Cake & Co.
You guessed it! This is my boyfriend's second birthday cake from Corine Cake & Co. As you may have already known, my boyfriend is a photographer/ videographer. So cameras make up a huge part of his life, and I thought a camera cake would make a great surprise or him hehe.
In case you're wondering why this cake looks so sloppy, parts of the fondant melted a little and some other parts cracked a bit due to Singapore's crazy weather. And also, I was a little reluctant to place it in the fridge /: I mean, who likes to eat rock-hard cakes with solid icing and dry fondant? Right? To make things worse, Singapore's humid weather will cause the cake to 'sweat' shortly after it's being taken out of the fridge for sure, due to condensation.
Guys, I did my research okay hahaha. Fondant cakes can be so delicate and fragile, and I was so afraid that this cake wasn't able to survive the insane weather till midnight that day (so that i can surprise him.) But I was really surprised that it was able to retain most of the details on the camera even after about 10 hours, sitting on the counter.
Hands down to the best fondant cake decorating job done. The camera sitting on top of the cake is just so adorable HAHA. Even the smallest buttons are present. Shows exactly how much sincerity Corine had put in into making this cake ;)
Love the contrast between the blue and the red.
See how pretty it looks even after surviving almost one entire day!
The inside is two layers of red velvet cake (my second fav after chocolate!!) with smooth cream cheese frosting in between. The level of sweetness is just right! I really hate how some bakers ruins red velvet cake with its unduly sweet cream cheese frosting. As much as I love sweet things, I don't want to feel like I've just devoured a spoonful of sugar :/
And yes, I was the one who cut the cake HAHA. Didn't quite know how i should cut the cake without having to destroy the fondant camera on top. So yeap, I ended up cutting around it LOL.
