World Miss University Part 6

After being crowned as Miss Singapore Global Beauty Queen 2013 last year, I was given the opportunity to represent Singapore in the 26th World Miss University Pageant February this year, which took place in South Korea. And here's my little journey of 3 weeks in Korea.

Here's me in this pretty red cocktail dress for phototaking one evening! :)

Tina and I!

The beautiful cocktail dress that I'm holding in this photo is what I walked in on the finals! Its really similar to the one I was wearing, isn't it!

In our sponsored dresses!

Feasting after phototaking and gown/cocktail fitting! I swear we've been fed really well. The variety and quality of food is incredible.

Sponsor visitation for the next day! They spoilt us with a palatable buffet lunch after a presentation of their company and their products!

I received the gorgeous velvet scarf around my neck as a welcoming gift from them! I'm not joking, the texture is amazing. I don't own a lot of velvet pieces, but I have always been in love with the material. It just feels so soft and silky and I swear I can spend an entire day touching it. Do I sound like a creep now? Lol.

With the generous sponsors! :)

Crazy girls singing on the bus ride back to our trains! Yeap, that isn't a typo. That's what we stayed in. You'll know it if you've read my previous posts. The place where we stayed in Hwacheon was actually a modified train, that is no longer in use, into small cabins for lodging purposes.

There's always time for selfies! :D

DMZ (The Korean Demilitarized Zone) visitation.
This, without doubt, is one of the few visitations that I anticipated the most! Never in my life have I imagined myself visition the DMZ in Korea. And here I am. Standing right there with Korean soldiers, not to mention, my beautiful ladies! :)

So, the DMZ is basically a strip of land running across the Korean Peninsula that serves as a buffer zone between North and South Korea. It is a de-facto border barrier, which runs along the 38th parallel north.

The view from here is spectacular. We were told that the scenery is even more captivating in summer where the entire landscape is filled with greenery and if we are lucky enough, we may even be able to see North Korea from here. Unfortunately, the snow and fogginess covered much of the wonders. But that didn't stop me from being amazed though!

Big thank you to the 7th Infantry Division for their warm hospitality!

We were each assigned to one soldier and they were in charge of guiding us during the exhibition around the camp. Best part was that the specific soldier assigned to each delegate has a certain degree of knowledge of the country that the delegate is from. Smart, cause that would account any difficulties in communicating.

And here is me and my 'tour guide' for the day! He was originally from Singapore but moved to Korea to further his studies!

This is what the Korean soldiers eat.

Each of us delegates was given a set of uniform where we can change into before proceeding to the open field for exhibition! As you can see apart from the uniform, there's also the Singapore flag and the South Korean flag, my name 'Chloe' in Korean, and a metal piece with my name in English and Korean, country and date of visitation on it!

Setting up the stage!

A few hours before the grand finals!

Evening gown for the evening!

National costume segment!

Please ignore my awkward hand LOL

Yes, I know my expression looks really awkward here. Have been smiling for the past 1++2 hours or so, and my cheeks had gone numb from smiling.

Walking in this beautiful cocktail dress by Korean designer Kim Young Se! Love the delicate details on the dress.

Love love love this photo!

The view from our cabins!

Yes, I know. We're messy girls.

No makeup on the last day! Felt like my skin needed a breather.

So sorry this post came so so so late.

Love, Chloe
