World Miss University Part 1
After being crowned as Miss Singapore Global Beauty Queen 2013 last year, I was given the opportunity to represent Singapore in the 26th World Miss University Pageant February this year, which took place in South Korea. And here's my little journey of 3 weeks in Korea.

Last meal before leaving for Korea at Swensens with my beloved family and friends! You know me, I love chocolates and ice cream and anything that is sweet. So yeap. And of course I know, I shouldn't be eating all these fattening food before my pageant, but oh wells.
<3<3<3
Here's Von, Weixian and me. No idea why its upside down. This happened on Facebook too. When i viewed it on my comp, its right-side up. But when its uploaded onto Blogger or Facebook, it ends up like this. So just bear with it and try to visualise this right side up.
Cute kid. NOT. HAHAHAHA
Selfie with the cute kid.
This is crab abuse HAHAHAHA.
There were figurines like these all over the airport. Spongebob, Patrick, Mr Krabs and Squidward. And of course, the pineapple house. I mean, we HAD TO take some photos right? You don't see things like this all the time, do you? And also, we were trying to kill time, as we arrived at the airport rather early that night. So yeap, camwhore time!
And if you noticed, I looked rather chubby (nicer word for fat) then x.x
Haven't been watching out my diet and weight and everything else before flying off then, so yeah, I was somewhat out of shape. But thank god, it was winter in Korea, so I have layers of clothes to conceal my chubbiness.
Weixian and I! (Was forced by Von to wear my thick coat when this photo was taken. HAHA. No idea why she wanted that, but yeap.)
Von and I!
Awkward family photo hahahahah. My dad looks super cute, right hahaha.
The glamorous queen.
I'm so good at posing. Thanks, I know that. *Takes a bow and waves*
*and blows kisses in all directions*
Another high fashion pose by me.
Just me saying hi to my fans.
Me with Von's mum (: I have to say that I am really grateful toward Von and her mum. Other than my parents, they were really supportive of me and help me in many areas, not just in the preparation for my WMU pageant.
Somehow our mums look alike HAHA.
Thanks girls, for sending me off that night. It meant so much to me to have you girls there with me. I mean as much as being excited, I felt really scared deep inside too. Not knowing what to expect and everything, those endless possibilities that flooded my mind was driving me crazy.
Cute mums enjoying their ice cream. Yumz.
Like, come on, can your mums ever eat in such a cute way
*flips hair* Obviously not.
Here's Von indulging in her baked rice.
And here's Weixian doing the same. HAHA.
Took this selfie at Shanghai's Pudong Airport the next morning on the 15th while waiting for my flight. I was really bored at that point of time. Maybe I'm just stupid or something, but i have been trying to connect to the wifi at the airport for hours, but it still doesn't work. I had to log in here and log in there. And for some reason, I had to have a Chinese number to connect to the wifi there, which is kind of ridiculous. Finally realised how much it sucks to not have internet connection. It felt like I was in another planet. LOL.
And yes, I got judged by some people who were also waiting for their flight at the airport. Thinking about it now, I must have acted really weird then LOL. I mean, not just taking photos of yourself, but also making funny faces at the same time is just way to bizarre.
Got to enjoy this beautiful view on my flight to Seoul from Shanghai. It was about an hour before I arrive in Seoul, if I'm not wrong. It's definitely not the first time I've seen a sunset on a plane, but every single time, I find myself to be so mesmerized by the beautiful colours in the horizon. It's just so so so pretty. I mean, in Singapore, even on beaches, you don't get to watch sunset that's this pretty.
Lets have a moment of silence to enjoy this beautiful landscape.
God, I really want to jump out of the plane and lie on the clouds and bounce everywhere. And make cloud angels.
Here's me and my beloved roomie, Miss El Salvador, Georgina, a few hours after I landed in Korea. She was my first roommate, and she was such a darling to me. She's someone I can talk about everything with, although sometimes it can be hard for us to understand each other due to our language barrier. Thanks to my baby here, I can do a self introduction in Spanish HAHA.
Miss Macau and me during our first ever dinner together!
My baby, Miss Portugal!
The ladies and I at WMU orientation night!
This is what i ate for breakfast the next day! We had a lot of food available for breakfast, and they were really good. But of course, I had to be conscious of my weight. So yeap, and thankfully, I did lose weight after that three weeks in Korea. Hehehe. I'm trying really hard to maintain my weight and lose a few more kgs, if possible. But in case you don't know, its really hard for me to control my appetite, especially in school where I tend to snack a lot during breaks in between lessons. And I'll always end up eating too much.
So here's our room. It's really huge. There are two queen/king sized beds. That's my messy bed in the photo there. Yes, I'm sorry, I didn't make my bed after I woke up that morning.
Anywaysssssssssssssss, in the background, there's our kitchen. Best part: We have our own washing machine (cool enough), dishwasher (WHATT), microwave with toaster and a super huge fridge. I mean, yes, we're not going to even use some of them, but yeah, it's still really cool. Never been to a hotel in my entire life that has all these. Or maybe it's just cause I've been to too little hotels.
Here's the sofa.
And Georgina's bed, with a magnificent view of the city behind her.
This is the close up view. Really messy I know. But that was cause we were unpacking our luggage and everything at that point in time, and that's exactly why everything was everywhere. I swear, my own room in Singapore is way neater than this ;) Yes, no joke, I'm serious.
There's the stove and everything else.
Our half packed luggage in front of the dressing table and TV.
A morning selfie by the window beside Georgina's bed. The lighting in the morning by the window was way too good. I just had to take a selfie. It's a girl's thing.
Ugly eyebags due to the lack of sufficient sleep, though i was extremely tiring from the long flight to Seoul. Guess I was not used to sleeping in a different place. And it was super cold too. ):
Both Georgina and I arrived in Seoul on the 15th, so our arrival considered early, and that's why we had a free day on the 16th for us to rest, adjust to the difference in time zones and all. Lucky for me, the difference in time between Singapore and Korea is just one hour, no biggie. But I sure was tired. Didn't get any sleep for almost one whole day as my flight was at 2am in the morning and I had to transfer twice more before arriving in Seoul. So it was just boarding, alighting, waiting, boarding, alighting, waiting, and this cycle repeats. Worse part is that I had to carry both of my luggage alone. They add up to about 40-45kg in total, if I'm not wrong. But I didn't had it the worst, cause my baby here took 30+ hours from El Salvador to Korea.. So yeap, I know I shouldn't complain.
Back to the photo. We unpacked our bags, had a good night sleep after the long flights, and decided to explore Seoul after breakfast. I was really excited, but it kinda sucked. Cause I was having fever then. Guess I had caught a cold the night before as I wore a tank top to sleep, and halfway through the night, my shoulders somehow got exposed to the cold. Also, I guess my body wasn't able to adapt to the sudden change in climate so quickly.
Yes, we were taking photos on an overhead bridge. And dont judge us. We are tourists in Korea okay. HAHA *Wink*
Pretty right, I know. ;)
So...... We were really excited when we saw Starbucks. Not that we didn't know there's Starbucks in Korea, but cause, we were dying in the cold and all we ever wanted is a cup of hot coffee. And then BAM!, Starbucks appears. And if you don't know me, I'm a coffee lover. I can never survive without coffee.
Happy me with my caramel latte :)
Decided to sign on our cups HAHAHA. Proud to be Miss Singapore hehe.
Gosh, I look really fat in my coat. HAHAH.
A photo with my latinas before leaving for the National Cemetery on the second day!
Spot me!
Miss HongKong and I with one of the soldiers!
Beautiful ladies with handsome soldiers! (:
The National Cemetery is reserved for Korean veterans, including those who died in the Korean independence movement, Korean War, and Vietnam War. The tombs, monuments, and artifacts served as a reminder of South Korea's struggle to true democracy. Visiting the cemetery was a humbling experience. The interior of Seoul National Cemetery is amazingly beautiful. Especially the ceiling, it was so magnificent, with paintings of angels or fairies on it. I didn't get to snap any photo ): Not because I wasn't allowed or that I was too lazy, but my hands were freezing in the cold. The weather was crazy. And I couldn't even feel my hands at that point in time LOL.
Some more snaps with the soldiers, and Annabel was having her photo taken too hahaha.
Miss Taiwan and me!
Will upload the rest of the photos soon. Good night <3
